Description
We'll take you to Wicklow, a neighboring county to the south of Dublin. This is known as the garden of Ireland because of the beautiful color produced by the vegetation that covers its mountains where numerous films have been shot
.
Leaving the city, we enter the Irish countryside where you can hardly see any inhabitants, only cows and sheep. The rivers overflowing with water along the roadsides and the region's clean air make it easy for its inhabitants to pass the age of 100
.
We will visit the neoclassical mansion of Powerscourt where there will be time to stroll through its Italian and Japanese gardens, the curious pet cemetery and its corners full of flowers. For shopping lovers, you will also have the opportunity to take a look at one of Avoca's best stores
.
We will also go to the Glendalough Valley where the 6th century Celtic monastery founded by Saint Kevin is located, where we will take a guided tour of its ruined churches, round tower and crosses, going back to the Middle Ages and its time of greatest splendor before being invaded by the Vikings.
Then you'll enjoy an optional 45-minute guided walk through Glendalough National Park filled with paths, waterfalls and rivers that lead to two lakes that were formed during the ice age.
After the walk we will go to eat (not included in the price) at a restaurant in the middle of the mountains with a special charm, where you can taste for 25€:
- First: Vegetable cream or house salad
- Second courses: Irish lamb stew or vegetable stew
Dessert: Banoffee cake and coffee or tea (Tell the guide if you have any special dietary needs) · Children's menu: 13€
We are closed on January 1, March 17, December 25 and 26.
